Bridesmaids packet printable & oversized confetti

Hello, hello! Happy Friday!
We are leaving tomorrow morning for a girls getaway weekend/bachelorette party :) If you haven't checked, the wedding is 15 days away!!! WHAT? We are so ready.
Also, we found out that some of our engagement pictures are going to be featured in the David Gardners Jewelers magazine!! We absolutely loved working with them and couldn't be happier with our rings :)

Anyway, I sent my bridesmaids a fun info packet a while back and just realized I never posted about them! These were so fun and easy to do.
The downloadable PDF is at the bottom. I left it mostly blank so you can fill in your own info, and I included a blank one at the end. The font I used is sunshine in my soul which you can download from dafont!
I'd been in contact with my girls, but it's always nice to have a paper copy to refer back. I made the template in powerpoint and printed it on heavy cardstock. I also made the oversized confetti using tissue paper and a shape puncher from Hobby Lobby. This is so easy and cheap! A great way to spice up a party, package, etc.
The envelopes are 5X5 velum and I love how you can see the confetti through it! I cut the cardstock to fit once they were printed, and voila! Cute bridesmaids packets that you can send through regular mail!

Follow this link to download your own!

I may or may not be obsessed with confetti right now.
How stinkin' cute is this?!?

scarf swap!

Seriously, how fun is a blogger scarf swap?! Meredith is so awesome for hosting, and my partner, Miss Jama Lee, is the best. She sent me this gorgeous scarf from Loft, which happens to be the same one Meredith got!
It's still pretty stifling here--maybe if I wear it, Texas will take a hint??

Thanks, Jama and Meredith!

favorite things: office attire

I'm not a morning person. My body is slowly adjusting, but there's just something about waking up when it's still dark outside that really rubs me the wrong way.
But take heart, a cute outfit and a cup of coffee are just the right combo to chase my morning blues away. :)
I'm going to do a series of "favorite things" posts about my current business casual loves. I'll try my best to post about items I actually own, but since I'm a bargain shopper, that's not always possible--it'll be a mix.

1. Color blocked pencil skirts. I love skirts from The Limited because many of them are made from the yoga pants material, so they're cute and comfortable.
I have this one.
And I have one similar to this, but the stripes are navy and hot pink. Love!
2. These shoes required absolutely NO break-in time, and they go with nearly everything (and they're on sale!!).
3. Navy and orange is one of my favorite color combos for the office. Bright but not overwhelming. (this is not me)

Happy weekend! Today's my 9/80, so we went to the courthouse and got our marriage license this morning! T-22 days until the wedding!!

The Inbetweeners

Blogging on a Monday night? That's unusual.
Yep.
Must be important, right?
RIGHT.

In true modern mapper style, I'm squeaking in about a week late on this one, but it's super exciting, thus worth a belated blog post.
SO, one of my bff's from high school, Alex, is a big time actress in LA. Being an actress is no walk in the park, but she's dominating already--making it look easy. She scored the lead female role in MTV's remake of the British phenom The Inbetweeners that premiered last Monday to rave reviews! AND, if you read this and run to your TV as soon as I push publish, you'll be in time to watch the second episode on MTV at 9:30pm central!!!
So, HURRY! You'll laugh, promise. And cringe. Then laugh again.
That's Alex! Front and center! We are so excited and proud of her!!!

graduation: take 2

Friday, August 10th, after six years and two degrees, I officially graduated from Texas A&M (and school in general). Like, forever. Not going back. Thanks for the awesome job, fun memories and a super hot fiance. Now, BYE.
Overall the day went really smoothly, mostly because the commencement part was the night before (Thursday evening?? Really? I'm sure all 13 people that can make it to College Station on Thursday evening really enjoyed it).
All the grads walked in, the pres gave a cute speech about how he has to shake 1,800 hands in one day, so be gentle and they started calling out names...shuffling us across the stage and down to a green screen to take our last cheesy school picture. We were in and out in two hours (can I get an amen??).
Anyway, many, many of my favorite people were there including several members of the A-team (my soon-to-be in-laws). I wasn't particularly excited about walking, mostly because it's all about the experience and I've already had that. You do get to wear a "hood" and your sleeves have an extra long hanging down part, so the MS people are set apart, but eh. As you can see in the pic above, I rocked the hood as more of a choker and shamelessly waved at my peeps in the crowd so all the masters cool points were null.
Anyway, the day was exciting none-the-less especially considering that more times than not in the last two years, I thought there was a fairly good chance this day would never come! And my family was there to support me, which feels just as good as seeing a diploma in that tube when I got back to my seat.
Don't you just love my grandad's face?? Priceless.

Let's talk shoes, shall we?
Shoes are obviously the most important part of a graduation outfit since everything else is covered. Even doing your hair is somewhat pointless as it immediately turns to hat hair. SO, you have to have cute shoes. I splurged on these from Ann Taylor in black.
Now, I wear heels to work everyday. Like, 2"-3" heels. These babies are 4" with absolutely no platform or support for the ball of your foot. I'm not complaining. I'm a total believer that shoes are the prime example of beauty is pain and I almost never go for "comfort" over "WOWZA." Usually a few strategically placed band-aids does the trick if there isn't a huge amount of walking involved. However, if you are only slightly off target with said band-aid, disaster may strike. My right one was a little high and the back of the shoe had it peeled off before I even got into the building. My right shoe then made an impressive run at my achilles tendon (which narrowly escaped and still has the battle wounds to prove it). Needless to say, I was relieved to GET THOSE BABIES OFF.
This picture pretty much sums it up.
Guys just don't get it.

All this shoe talk has me pumped to post about fabulously chic work attire! Love me some business casual. Be back soon, homies!

quick check in

SO much has happened since I last checked in on my corner of the world wide web! It's exactly 70 days until the wedding! We are up to our noses in the wedding checklist, but every decision we make is fun and exciting :) I can't wait to share all of our special details with y'all afterwards!
Since I last checked in with you, I have moved down to Houston for good! College Station (and Texas A&M) treated me very well, but I am so glad to be back, and, more importantly, done with school forever! I took the month of June off to get settled in and started my full-time job at the beginning of July.
I'm officially a Geologist! I mean, I ordered business cards and everything.. that's pretty exciting. AND I ordered them as Page Alexander (!!) double exciting.
I am off to run wedding errands, so how about a quick iphone dump to catch up?
Moving day:
Pinterest project (found here)
I may or may not be obsessed with my new monogram! Clutch ordered here.
I pretty much monogram everything. Spoiler alert!
Rhett and I got our first wedding gift in the mail from his good friend and groomsman in Brazil!
Banks enjoyed the packing paper.
And Benson sleeps and continues to pack on the lbs.

Happy weekend! I'll be back soon to chat about how much I love work clothes :)

save-the-dates!

Our save-the-dates have officially hit mailboxes! I ordered them from My August Press on etsy and we could not be more pleased with the final product.
Even though I'm technically taking June "off" before starting work on July 2nd, life has been crazy lately! The movers moved my furniture into Rhett's apartment on Tuesday (pictures to come soon) and we have been buzzing around getting everything settled in. I can't wait to officially move in after our honeymoon! Updates coming soon :)
